DN Van Lines gave me a great quote for a recent move from the North Shore to MetroWest. They were friendly and courteous when I discussed it with them and did what was agreed upon in a timely manner. The owner of the company called me personally to check that everything was hunky dory. I'm happy with them.
Movers Lexington MA: Local, Long-Distance & Commercial Moving Services
Movers Lexington MA trust for local, long-distance & commercial moves near historic Battle Green. Packing, storage & free estimates.
Lexington Battle Green was the site of the opening battle of the American Revolution on April 19, 1775, when Lexington's Minute Men faced a British expeditionary force marching toward Concord — eight Americans were killed and ten wounded in the brief skirmish, and the Green has been a National Historic Landmark since 1961. Lexington's history didn't stop in the 18th century: MIT Lincoln Laboratory, a federally funded defense research center founded in 1951 at what's now Hanscom Air Force Base, helped kick off the Route 128 technology corridor that transformed the town's economy in the decades that followed. Lexington's public schools are also nationally recognized, drawing families specifically for the school system. DN Van Lines has handled movers Lexington MA relocations since 2003, and a move here can mean anything from a historic home near the Battle Green to a property closer to the town's tech-corridor office parks. Lexington MA movers who don't know the town's mix of colonial-era streets and modern office parks tend to be the ones caught off guard on moving day.
Local Moving Services in Lexington, MA
Lexington's neighborhoods range from the historic center near Battle Green and Massachusetts Avenue to more spread-out residential areas toward the Burlington and Bedford lines. Older homes near the town center sometimes come with narrower streets and limited parking, while newer construction further out tends to be more straightforward for a moving crew. Local movers Lexington MA residents hire need to be comfortable with both ends of that range, not just one or the other. Our local moving services are planned around the specific neighborhood and home type, not a single approach for the whole town.
Long-Distance Moves From Lexington, MA
Lexington's concentration of tech and defense-research employers, including MIT Lincoln Laboratory and other Route 128 corridor companies, means a steady stream of long-distance moves tied to career changes among a highly mobile professional population. DN Van Lines operates branches in Sterling, Virginia, Maryland, and Jacksonville, Florida, so a long-distance move from Lexington to any of those regions stays with one federally licensed carrier from pickup to delivery. See our full long-distance moving services for how interstate pricing and scheduling work.
Commercial & Office Moves in Lexington, MA
Lexington's office parks along the Route 128 corridor host a mix of tech, biotech, and defense-research tenants, alongside smaller professional offices in the town center. Our commercial and office moving teams schedule Lexington business relocations for evenings and weekends to avoid disrupting operations, and coordinate IT disconnect/reconnect timing so systems are down for the shortest possible window.
Packing Services for Lexington, MA Homes
Homes near Lexington's historic center, some dating to the colonial and Revolutionary War era, often include genuine antiques and architectural details that call for custom crating rather than standard box-and-wrap treatment. Our packing services cover exactly that, along with full-service pack/unpack for anyone who'd rather not spend a week wrapping glassware themselves.
Storage Options Near Lexington, MA
Not every Lexington move lines up neatly between a closing date and a move-in date, and our storage services cover that gap with short-term bridging storage, along with longer-term storage for anyone downsizing out of a larger home. All storage is climate-controlled, which matters for antiques and furniture common in Lexington's older housing stock.
The September 1st Moving Rush in Lexington, MA
Lexington feels the broader Massachusetts September 1st lease-turnover rush alongside the rest of the Route 128 corridor, particularly as families time moves around the start of the school year given the town's well-regarded public schools. Truck rentals and moving crews across the region book up months in advance of the date, so if your Lexington move falls anywhere near September 1st, book 6-8 weeks out at minimum.
Winter Moving Tips for Lexington, MA
Lexington's older streets near the town center and Battle Green can get tight fast once snow piles up along the curbs, so planning parking ahead of time matters more in winter than any other season. Ice on older porches and front steps near the historic center is a real hazard for a crew carrying furniture, so we bring floor and threshold protection as standard on every winter move.
What Moving Day Looks Like With Lexington Movers
Our crews arrive within a confirmed window and walk the space with you first, noting fragile items and confirming the plan for stairs, driveways, or tight doorways before anything gets lifted. We lay down floor runners and door-jamb protection at both ends of the move, whether that's a historic home near Battle Green or newer construction closer to Burlington. Every shipment carries federally required valuation coverage at minimum, and we'll walk you through full-value protection options for higher-value items.
Serving Lexington, MA and Nearby Communities
Lexington borders more of our Middlesex County service area than most towns we serve, and plenty of our Lexington clients are moving to or from right next door. We regularly handle moves between Lexington and neighboring Arlington, Belmont, Waltham, and Winchester — all a short drive from the town center and served by the same Northborough-based fleet, so a short move between any of these communities doesn't add cost or complexity.
Why Lexington Movers Choose DN Van Lines
DN Van Lines has been independently owned and operating in Massachusetts since 2003. Every mover on our trucks is a background-checked, W-2 employee, never day labor or an unfamiliar subcontracted crew. We're A+ rated with the Better Business Bureau, federally licensed under USDOT 1141917, and approved for Department of Defense and GSA relocations — worth checking before hiring any Lexington moving company for a job involving real money and real belongings. What Our Customers Say
Verified reviews from people who have moved with DN Van Lines.
I just completed a move from Boston to NYC, and I can't believe how stress-free DN made it. The communication was spectacular — courteous calls, warm confirmation check-ins, and timely 30-minute warning calls. The movers themselves were absolutely prepared and professional in both demeanor and expertise. They knew all the secrets that made the load and unload more efficient. I have zero regrets going with them — their high rating is absolutely earned.
What a wonderful experience! The moving team arrived on time and was efficient and polite. They wrapped all my large furniture in blankets and there was not a scratch on anything. They packed my kitchen with care. In the end the move cost me LESS than the quote I received. I HIGHLY recommend DN Van Lines.
The movers arrived on time and were polite, well spoken, and worked quickly. The office team was really helpful in making a reservation and responded quickly. All in all a great experience.
This past weekend we had a wonderful moving experience with DN Van Lines. Specifically, Brad and Gabriel were incredible — be sure to ask for them as a team! They were efficient, swift, and hard-working. More importantly, they treated our belongings with care and were kind and personable to boot.
When DN Van Lines gave me a time estimate for the move, I was thinking to myself ''They can't get it done that quickly, can they?'' Not only was the estimate accurate, but the movers actually came in UNDER the time estimate. Tony and Lou were fast, efficient, and easy-going. Nothing was broken, everything was placed where I asked. A+ all the way.
I've used these guys twice in two years for my previous moves. Everyone from the customer service reps to the movers is very professional, efficient, and super friendly. On my last move, they even took the time to assemble my bed and they even repaired my end tables which were always wobbly. I don't plan on moving for a few years, but next time I do, I'm calling these guys.
100% satisfied. Pedro, Ever, and Mayron were an excellent crew. Helpful, courteous, and polite. They worked well as a team and kept a quick pace during a 90 degree day. The crew also assisted with removing and reinstalling a railing and front door to allow furniture to make it into our home. Highly recommend.
