Claims & Risk Management Panel at IAM Annual Conference
Claims & Risk Management Panel at IAM Annual Meeting Moderated by Oded Carmi
The 59th Annual Meeting and Expo of the International Association of Movers (IAM) kicked off on October 13, 2021 with a special emphasis on pandemic safety protocols. Attendees that joined the sessions in person observed IAM Safe practices designed to maximize the networking that is so important to industry attendees while ensuring the safety of all participants.
DN Van Lines was a key supporter of the conference with numerous sponsorships but more importantly company president, Oded Carmi volunteered in a number of capacities including moderating the Claims and Risk Management Panel which was sponsored by Unirisc, Inc. Virtual attendees to the conference were able to experience the simulcast of the event in real time along with the in-person attendees.
The panelists were:
- Mark Edick – US Army Center for Personnel Claims Support
- Carnita Farve – Air Force Claims Service Center
- Mary Optiz – USN OJAG Claims and Tort Litigation
- Leslie Gravel – Unirisc, Inc.
- Kirra Floyd – Total Military Management
The discussion focused on the continuing collaboration between the moving industry, its supplier partners and its key customers in an effort to improve service to transferees especially our service members in uniform and their families.
Close to 100 participants attended the interactive session online and in-person making for an engaging and informative session.
For those registered conference attendees who missed the event, it is available via Swapcard at this link: Claims & Risk Management Panel. The recorded event will also be made available On-Demand at IAM Learning soon.
Oded was particularly impressed with how the IAM stepped up during what could have been a particularly challenging period as we emerge from pandemic related lockdowns. “It was a significant investment that the IAM made to bring the industry together. The audio visual format which bridged the connectivity between those attending the conference in-person and online worked well. The IAM is leading the industry forward not only providing the networking environment which has been so missed by members but in hosting important, relevant and timely content. You get what you put into an organization like the IAM and I happy to say that the investment that DN Van Lines has made in this association is continuing to pay strong dividends.”
